Here are some ways you can help out the parish:
-
Sunday Meal:
We always need people in the rotation for cooking on Sundays. If you are not in the cooking rotation, we’d love to have you sign up! No worries if you don’t know how to do it, you’ll be paired up with someone experienced. Also, if you don’t have money to donate food for the meal, the parish will reimburse you. We keep the schedule online here
Please contact Marissa (see parish directory). with any questions, or to be put onto the rotation.
- If you can’t help with cooking, how about cleaning after Sunday meals? We have a rotation for that as well. Again, see Marissa as above. If most of us are on either the cooking or the cleaning rotation, it makes less work for everyone.
-
Church Cleaning:
The church needs to be cleaned weekly (at least). We use a rotation of parishioners for this, and we will pay you per cleaning. Usually people sign up for a month, which is about 4 times (except for busier times of year). Matushka Janine (see parish directory) manages the rotation and would LOVE to hear from you.
-
New Property Projects:
We always have projects going on at the new property as we continue to develop it for our new building, cemetery, hall, etc. It’s everything from outside work in the woods, digging, building, fixing things, etc. We’re especially happy if you have any special skills – can you run a drill? a chainsaw? But we’ll make use of you regardless! Father Joshua would be the person to contact if you have some time/labor you can donate. He’ll either get you a project or set you up with someone who has one there.
-
Slack:
We have both a men’s and a women’s “slack” group. Slack is app we use for group chats. One of its main uses is so that we can help each other with projects or knowledge or whatever. Staying active there is a great way to track whom you might be able to help in the parish community. See Daniel Shackelford to join the mens slack, or Loretta Crespo to join the women’s group. (see parish directory)
